Is There A Second Batch Of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale? Yes.

Celebration Ale 2021

Every year on the Perfect Pour we wonder if Sierra Nevada Brewing makes multiple batches of Celebration Ale, or do they do it all in one shot.

Well this season, in year of our Beer Lord 2021, I can all but confirm there are at least two batches!!

The first batch to hit Fresno was canned on 10/08/21.

It was looking like that was it because several six-packs purchased later resulted in the same date.

But today (after it sat untouched for a week in my fridge as I moved through previously bought sixers) I have discovered a second batch:

A 11/05/21 Celebration Ale and the Suns game.

11/05/21. It’s at least a second canning date. But with that large of span between dates we can assume that’s a different batch.

Does Sierra have a third batch in them before Celebration goes away? We’ll keep checking.

By the way, the second batch tastes the same as the first, as far as I can tell.

UPDATE!: There are even more batches. This from an Untappd friend, there is a 10/5 & 10/21 batch!:

AND, Nick from the Perfect Pour found a batch at Costco that is from the end of September! So that is five batches and counting!

✌️?

Anatomy Of A Hangover: Liquid Gravity’s Mo’ Diggity & East Brother’s Gold, Edition

East Brother Brewing Gold IPA and Liquid Gravity Mo Diggity DDH IPA

I write these hangover posts to help future me and maybe future you, have less hangovers and stuff.

I had three beers last night and woke up with a Level 2 (scale of 1 to 5, five being bad) hangover.

Beer One: East Brother Brewing: Gold IPA. 7.3%. Hops unknown. 16oz can.

Beer Two: Liquid Gravity Brewing: Mo Diggity DDH WCIPA. 7%. All Mosaic Hop. 16oz can.

Beer Three: East Brother Brewing : Gold IPA (same as beer one).

Drinking session: 8PM to Midnight.

Setup: Foot long tuna Subway sandwich at 6:00 PM (slightly embarrassing – work dinner). No food afterwards.

Water: 16oz of water during drinking session.

Normally I drink two 16oz beers a session with an occasional 12oz or 16oz beer. And I usually don’t have more than a Level 1 hangover (aware I had beers the previous night but no headache or sluggishness).

Verdict: I think the combo of only one glass of water, not a lot of food for a base and a slight uptick in alcohol consumed all contributed to this morning’s headache heavy hangover.

Lesson: Hydrate, dumbass.

Sorry Allagash White Fan, Untappd Ratings Reflect What A Beer Actually Tastes Like

You Allagash White fucks.

I want just one of you, ONE OF YOU, to admit that Allagash White is not for everyone.

It is a niche style beer!!

Hello!? McFly!? Think, McFly, think.

Belgian Yeast and Wheat Beer in general, kinda fucking suck… well, suck to a lot of people anyway. Allagash White Fan always fails to mention this when complaining.

And then there is the disconnect of what the upper beer geek crust thinks Untappd is and what it actually is.

I mean really, how long is it going to take you Untappd haters to understand the app? It is not for rating a beer on how well it is made. Nope.

It is an app for rating how a beer tastes to a person. A human beer drinker. Not a brewer, or Beer Twitter, or Beer Instagram.

So when you understand the context, 3.76 is a very good rating for a shit style. Is there a Belgian Yeast inspired Wheat Beer ranking higher? I’m not going to take the time to figure it out but it’s HIGHLY doubtful.

I now present to you the most accurate Allagash White rating on Untappd:

Belgian Yeast is the Brussel Sprout of the beer world. Loved by some, disliked by most.

So Allagash White Dude should be happy with that rating. And maybe shut the hell up, for once.
