Sorry Allagash White Fan, Untappd Ratings Reflect What A Beer Actually Tastes Like

You Allagash White fucks.

I want just one of you, ONE OF YOU, to admit that Allagash White is not for everyone.

It is a niche style beer!!

Hello!? McFly!? Think, McFly, think.

Belgian Yeast and Wheat Beer in general, kinda fucking suck… well, suck to a lot of people anyway. Allagash White Fan always fails to mention this when complaining.

And then there is the disconnect of what the upper beer geek crust thinks Untappd is and what it actually is.

I mean really, how long is it going to take you Untappd haters to understand the app? It is not for rating a beer on how well it is made. Nope.

It is an app for rating how a beer tastes to a person. A human beer drinker. Not a brewer, or Beer Twitter, or Beer Instagram.

So when you understand the context, 3.76 is a very good rating for a shit style. Is there a Belgian Yeast inspired Wheat Beer ranking higher? I’m not going to take the time to figure it out but it’s HIGHLY doubtful.

I now present to you the most accurate Allagash White rating on Untappd:

Belgian Yeast is the Brussel Sprout of the beer world. Loved by some, disliked by most.

So Allagash White Dude should be happy with that rating. And maybe shut the hell up, for once.

I Got Through It: ‘Brutal Noodle’ Fruited West Coast IPA

I did not think it was going to go down like this. It’s red.

When I saw “fruited” West Coast IPA, my mind went to tropical; orange and pineapple. Turns out it’s cranberry and orange.

I am not too big into cranberry in beer. So it was a shock. Not expecting a beer billed as a West Coast to be like that. Not here to say it’s wrong to bring WC into it, just here to say it’s weird, dude.

But hey, I got through it. Not mad. Maybe even glad, as I would have never tried if if I had known about the berry action, so I guess I am expanding my palate and junk.

That said, I am making sure my next beer is not red.

Oh, It Was A Corona

This man won’t live to see 30

You’ll have to forgive my post here, I am trying to break out of a writing slump.

With that in mind, I was attempting to think of anything beer-fun I could post to help my slump and for some reason a scene from Point Break popped into my head.

It was a scene from a party and the “Ex-Presidents” were telling surfing stories. I remember one involving beer being flung around but I couldn’t remember if it was generic movie beer or actually a beer.

Let’s see:

Oh okay, it was a Corona, man. Good to know I guess. Hopefully this will free me up to start writing more relevant beer posts again.

By the way, their biggest surf debate is dated. It is now, definitively, Nazare: in Portugal:
