Why Is The Yeti Bottle Opener “The Brick” 50 Dollars!?!?

The Brick bottle opener from Yeti

It looks solid as fuck. I like it. I am a sucker for Yeti products – even though I can only afford their cups and have yet to be able to buy a cooler.

But why in the FUCK is the bottle opener $50!?

There is no story for this. No lifetime guarantee. No special limited series hand numbered run. No membership access to something else or discount on a cooler. Not jack fucking squat.

The reviews are in. They are not good. Funny sometimes, but not good:

If you could bring down the price, or maybe make it more collectable, I am here for you because it looks solid.

But your energy is totally “It is a bottle open. It is fifty bucks. We are Yeti so buy it, asshole.”

Normally I am totally here for you, Yeti, but you gotta give me SOMETHING! So go fuck off with your $50, no story, opener.

And Then I Was Like “Oh FUCK, This Is A Black IPA”

I was saving one more beer in the fridge for tailgating the finale of Kenobi. A beer from There Does Not Exist. They make excellent beers, many being IPAs and Pales and such.

I am thinking I have a WCIPA waiting for me but it turns out:

“Vague Future” from There Does Not Exist Brewing

Yep. Black IPA.

I forgot I did this. In an effort to change up my routine I mixed a BIPA in there.

It’s fine. I am working through it. It is well made for the style. Just not what I was wanting.

Note to self: Don’t get cute. Just get more WCIPAs next time.

Pliny The Elder Gives A Better Buzz

Pliny The Elder Russian River IPA
Pliny The Elder from Russian River

I had a Pliny the other night and I started getting a little buzz, and like… it was nice.

Better than nice, actually. I really felt like it was different. The buzz was different. Slightly elevated.

It hit differently than a standard DIPA. The quality of buzz was just a little bit better.

Maybe that is my brain thinking it is better because it is a Russian River beer.

When you think about it though, does that make it any less real? If my brain feels the buzz is better because it is a higher quality beer, doesn’t that make it real?

Tuesday Is A Great Night For Beer Drinking

Pliny The Elder IPA
Pliny The Elder from Russian River is pure Tuesday Night perfection.

Dear lord that Pliny went down super easy. Is it because it’s well fucking made? Well, okay, yeah.

But it is also because it is Tuesday night. The best night for a beer geek to drink.

It is quiet. Not a lot going on.

The Monday “back to the grind” has passed. It is too early to start gearing up for the weekend. Nobody has made plans for you to do a thing.

It is the perfect space to knock a few beers back, reflect on some things. Maybe watch some live shows on YouTube:

Simply, it is a nice evening with your beers. For fellow beer drinkers everywhere: thank you, Tuesday night.
