I Drank These Two North Park Beers In The Past Couple Hours and I Want To Tell You Something…

North Park “GeometricGalaxy”
North Park “Mr Hoppy” IPA

They are very good beers.

That is it.

Wait…

I will say I don’t understand why they put “dank supreme” on the Mr. Hoppy beer, I did not get dank at all, which is fine, I don’t freaking care because it was a good beer, it’s just in this day and age when you say “dank” on the label and then you add “supreme” and you marry that with a SD brewer that knows how to make a damn dank beer and knows what a hazy California San Diego IPA is going to be in your mind – yes you know what we are going to think when you say those two words we are thinking HAZY AND POT – and you make the beer clear as fuck and totally west coast and now I am thinking “There are no rules to beer society anymore!! Every one do whatever the fuck you want!!” and that is cool and all but you made a westie, good on ya I guess.

Like I said, great beers.

Saturday Night Drinking Post: Three Beers Edition

Good evening fellow beer (and maybe blogging) enthusiast. I’m starting late tonight because of a busy day of being a dad, watching the ending to Spike Lee’s HBO Epicenters series on 9/11 (it’s good) and the fact that I only have three beers.

I knew I wasn’t going to be able to buy more beers today and I only had three left so I waited as long as I could so I could have a decent drinking session and maybe have a productive buzz.

Live Drinking Blog:

  • Mammoth Brewing’s “Yosemite Pale” is beer number one. A beer I am familiar with, nicely priced, and a little bit old-school but not in a bad way.
  • So, do I have this right: GABF (virtual) and Craft Brewers Conference (in person) happened roughly at the same time this year? … um ookay?…
  • 10:18: New Beer Alert! ? Wren House Brewing session IPA. Super stoked to have Phoenix’s Wren House in Fresno somehow:
  • Watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull because that is what’s on at the moment (Showtime). It’s still a large disappointment but it also isn’t that terrible.
  • Another nice night in Fresno:

12:29: I’m back! I had a bit of a family emergency but everything is cool now. On to my 3rd and final beer:

1:33AM PST: What a rip. Never achieved a buzz. Just disappointment. Oh freaking well. Maybe next Saturday.

✌️?

Harrison Ford & Ridley Scott Drinking a Fosters

Harrison Ford on the floor with Ridley Scott drinking a couple Fosters – Getty Images

I can’t tell you how much I love this picture of Harrison Ford and Director Ridley Scott, drinking beer and working out stuff before filming Blade Runner.

As a big Harrison Ford nerd (I have a podcast about him) and a beer nerd, this picture checks all my boxes.

Seeing Harrison laying on the floor is so very… Harrison. It also does confirm that Harrison Ford does drink.

And it’s so very beer too. Having a couple beers and being creative and relaxed is what lo-fi beer drinking is all about and I love it.

I wonder what scene or character trait the two were working out. Maybe they were just talking about life. It’s magical what a couple of Foster’s oilcans can do.

And by the way, if you are interested in having a physical copy of Blade Runner, there are several versions out there to check out (including the new one, Blade Runner 2049).
